Hello. I'm Mac and started polishing rocks last November. My three-year-old granddaughter brought me several rocks "for my collection." I didn't have a rock collection, but when your granddaughter brings you rocks, you have to start one.
I decided to polish some rocks so I could share them with her, so I bought a double barrel Lortone tumbler. I'm on my fourth load and am learning. I sorted through my "polished" rocks yesterday and put about 3/4 of them back for more polishing, so I'm getting more particular.
I bought Modern Rock Tumbling by Steve Hart. Very good advice in that book.
I bought some rough iron pyrite and am unsure how to process it. The polished stones I've seen on line don't seem as pretty as the rough pyrite. I'd appreciate any advice on how to improve rough iron pyrite.
Thanks.
