All of the metal and stone is sanded and polished at the same time.....   dancer27

The knives were brought to my studio for  the Jade work.

Most sellers of good Dinosaur Gem Bone post really good photos and you can see there is little "texture", cracks, pits and open cells.

Indonesian Flame Sagenite I believe.   I would suggest considering having someone with a bigger saw to slab it - perhaps a trade for part of it as payment.

Yes, that is a good piece.  Try to avoid anything other than fully agatized bone and you will not be disappointed!

I thought I would post a few pictures of three custom Jade handled knives I finished yesterday.  They are all very complex handles so they were a real challenge.   dancer27

Beautiful work - Exactly which Jade is it?  I know a lot of them but I am not sure I recognize it.  I would guess Boulder Creek but the photo is not detailed enough to see the grain/texture.  It is a darn nice green for sure.

Oil won't help.  Post some photos so we can see the stone and texture.  It is tough to give advice without more information.....   walker23

I would be willing to go with you to help pack out and I have a 24 inch saw so if it can be carried I can cut it.....
