Oh boy, a dollar in paper babylon tickets per pound.. highway robbery.

Thanks for the link, I sent it to a bunch of craftsmen buddies in that area, they're stoked about it now. If only I didn't currently live in Florida.

Fun it was! Scored about 50 lbs of quality vintage rough. There was a lot more there. I am trying to control myself. I have put one piece of Brazilian agate through the saw and was not disappointed. Nice fortified carnelian with some blue stripes etc.
Also scored some Graveyard plume and some nice Holley.
A fair bit of old Owyhee jasper, some cool carnelian, probably fairly local, some silver chains, a few gold filled etc.
A hand full of slabs to cab and I was able to get away without breaking the bank.
Some of the plume was a little rich for my blood, running $100.00 a pound. Worth it but hard to justify on my budget!!
All in all a great time.
I will try to get some pics up at some point.

Dang.  You never see stuff like that here in MA.  All they have here are estate sales with household junk they mark as antiques.

Got a call about a job in UT yesterday, and often OR, AZ, and even an occasional NM gig.  If i didn't have a wife and kids, i would be out there in a second.  I am real tempted to take a short contract in Tucson for Jan - Mar, just to go to the shows each day after work and rockhound the deserts on weekends.  Would probably come home broke after spending all my money on rocks and specimens and shipping.

The only one that really caught my attention was the Trent Agate.

Yeah I was gunning for the trent too.
What they were calling trent did not look anything like the trent my grampa dug... I didn't even think about it... Some kind of plume agate with no realgar or carnelian... Boring!
I always have to look though.

Great job Bill!  Nicely laid out.  I am drooling.  I would probably spend the whole day there digging thru the rock.

Here is a piece of Holley I got... cut two of them but only one on camera so far. Maybe should move this to cab thread?
Great grape jelly color...

There are times like this when living in Ohio just stinks !  No big rock piles like this to dig through.

I should shut up though . Over the years I also have cleaned out a few good estates here, they just are not as big here as the ones out west. Or the material as varied.
