Fishy smell rock
« on: October 22, 2015, 04:50:12 PM »
I found a conglomerate rock that has some nickel, Some green and a lot of carbon. Was told that it looked like a piece of slag. It was on an old rock wall. The thing is magnetic. The wierd thing is it smells strange. It's between the smell of fish and fresh air even when bone dry. Sulfer?. Cut a thin slice and I swear it looks like an impact breccia or maybe even a pallasite. I dont have a clue. It's REALLY heavy for it's size.

That was what I thought to begin with. But its mosrly black and the stones in the thing are in a pattern of twined lobes in a spiral. It's quite beautiful sliced.
