Hi Mark

Sorry about the pics. I cant take a good picture and photobucket is not being nice. I will try to get some better pics. It measures 4 1/2 inch x 3.75 x 2 1/2 inches and weighs about 4 lbs. I will have to take it to work for an accurate weight. I had to weigh it on fish scales.

When the wife finds out what I paid for it I am going to be in the dog house hide35 dunno28. I am going to tell her it is an investment. It really is. I should get at least 12 slabs of 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 x 1/4 if the cutting goes well.

Yea need to get more pics but I think you can see that that there is a lot of premium material there. I think if the first slab comes enough I will be able to cut enough cabs for sale that I can get my money back.

OK about the show. After I saw this I lost my mind and could not look at anything else. This southern Indiana you know. I walked to mall 5 times after and didn't see anything shocked30

I understand the show was a big success. The show was put on by the Evansiville  lapidary people. I was a member before I had kids. I have plans to go to there club house an slab this thing in 2 weeks.

Mark did you see the blue wheels at the top of the pic? Made them mine and redone theme to 400 800 and 1200 grit now I need to get another arbor for that side but I have my flat lap to finish them on.

OK all off to try to take a good picture of the face of where I am going to slab parallel.

Beautiful material.  You might already know, but depending upon the piece it can be super prone to breaking apart as you attempt to cab.  I've learned to only make roundish stones and only make very shallow domes.  Get off the grinding wheel FAST, or just sand!

The wheels look kool but how do you tell them apart if they are the same color?

Hi Greg and Mark

Thanks for the replies. Being this a show thread I have to give props to the Evansiville lapidary club for putting this show on. I will be going to the clubhouse with Camilla Saturday and rejoining so I can get this slabbed.

Greg I do believe that it was your thread about 10 months ago that got me looking for a piece. I will be posting updates there.

Mark
Congrats on the job. I just used a magic marker to label them but after recoating them I have the progression in my head. I will be posting about the mods I made to the genie and the harbor freight tile saw that I made that good blade you sent me fit yes16

I am so happy with the upgrades in my equiptment ura12

Winter is my cabbing time and I was lucky to get 3 or 4 per winter with my old set up hide35 With the new set up Sunday I cut 3 dancer27
