No petrified wood there. The center one is some type of metamorphosed and folded sedimentary rock. The quartz crystals in the left one is interesting. Lots of pegmatites in Virginia  so those large crystals are not surprising. If you know the area they came from you can search for that name plus the word geology and you may get a hit that leads you on to an explanation of the local geology.Virginia is famous for it's quatzites  so it is quite possible that  the center stone is quartzite. There are no volcanic rocks  and the whole state has very old metamorphosed rock so the igneous  and volcanic derived rocks that are popular with stone cutters are rare and  not based on familiar to this group geology.
