water drill press
« on: February 22, 2016, 01:01:46 PM »
This was an auction lot find by accident. Apparently the late owner was a inventor/designer/rockhound, ect....Lots of other lapidary machines in the pile which I didn't need and all custom made. This little guy is equipped with a water feed which passes through the shafting. You can see the variety of bit sizes in the photos. I'm interested in the smallest of bits here, all hollow bits for my pendant work. The down side is that the small bits, maybe 1.5mm, are soldered in through the nuts and replacing them with fresh ones may pose some alignment issues and the hassle of un-soldering and re-soldering. I'll have to rig up a jig specifically for re-soldering.

This is equipped with a rheostat so it will crawl or go so fast its scary !!

Cheers,

Kent
