Lepidolite
« on: May 05, 2018, 08:33:22 PM »

Cut a cab to see how it was going to polish before I make it into sphere.
The color is darker than the picture but I had to use a dark background and it is a little out of focus.
I took a great polish

Larger grain than I have cut before makes it more sparkly and the color held up well

Nice cab!  I'm surprised it took such a great polish.  Most lepidolite cabs I've seen have nice color but a so-so polish.

I have never seen lepidolite take such a nice polish. I have some Maine lepidolite with tourmaline found by a friend and it is  a lighter degree of polish no matter what I do.
