Jade lure
« on: June 06, 2020, 04:14:43 PM »

For those of you who love to fish, I think this one will never be cast as it would be shock and horror if I lost this one of a kind original Aussie jade lure.

In this circumstance it would seem the lure is the catch! Very nice...

I made a few stone lures years ago. We use long lures drilled with a hole down the middle for casting to salmon from shores. The color was the problem. I drill small beach rocks to use as weights for bottom fishing because they do not introduce heavy metals to the environment when you lose them. Your lure looks like it would catch aggressive fish, crevally?

I wouldn't actually use it either. Not that I fish or anything.

Thanks for the great comments, this piece was left over from another carving, a lure was the first thing that came to mind, the outer white and lime green rind gives it great contrast.
