Eye-catching shape on that one. Would that have originated as a fine-holed vesicular basalt with quartz fill?

Most of the veshicular basalt out here has a mix of feldspars  or zeolites. When metamorphosed the contents of the vugs  change and often this means a volumetric change  overfilling and streatching the vug and leaving it empty to an extent. this is really obvious if  the rock was metamorphosed to the point that epidote formed in the vugs ( assuming enough iron is present).Epidote cfan overwhealm the vugs and 9in the case of greenschists you can't tell there were vugs there as the epidote runs ramp-ant and covers about half the rock.

Very cool Frank, you do such a good job of showing how cool rock can be.

Excellent pendant, Frank!  Love the shape on that one as well as the cord knotting.

Thanks for the explanation on the metamorphosed basalt.  I always learn something from your posts.
