Unknown rock
« on: February 10, 2019, 02:29:50 PM »

This rock was acquired many years ago in either Fort Myers, Fl. or a show in San Antonio, Tx.  The rock cut easily on a slab saw and also a trim saw. It was shaped easily on a 60 grit flat lap without a lot of chipping on the edges. A jewelry file does not scratch the green material and some of the material that looks white but does scratch some of the white vein material. The green section scratches a white tile with no streak. I have included several pictures with one showing the break pattern. Thanks for all help. thanks

Looks like jade to me. Maybe even Clear Creek, but there are real jade experts on here who will know.

Clear creek jade makes sense as does the physical characteristics. The pure clear creek jade is white and is found in veins but it is very often intimately mixed with feldspar , can be within the feldspar  and you can have pure feldspar veins as well. Clear sreek jade is not often very nice , pretty blah.
