Yes and no. I know where to find some anytime I go out and have seen pieces up to 2.5 tons but most jade hunters have never seen real black here.Real black means no green no matter how thin. I just reread some geo publications and finally found a general reference to the in situ location. I think it is going to be an exciting summer as I also found a very hard to get to jadeite spot.

That is lovely, have to ask if the black has the Washington standard grey rind, or something a bit more exotic.

No rind whatsoever. Most can look a bit cloudy from feldspar content but even in those pieces there are usually small areas that are relatively clean.I will post some with quite a bit of feldspar soon for comparison.

Are you aware that Edwards is translucent in razor thin edges backlit?

Ours has lots of iron as does Edwards
 but the magnesium levels are probably higher than Edwards which may make the difference.
