Porcelain Jasper
« on: December 17, 2018, 07:04:32 PM »

This is from I located this summer after the wild fires cleared the hillside for us. The fractures are healed with a couple I couldn’t polish out. I really nice the colors we found in this seam. 3”

Lovely vivid colors. Do you find brighter colors on the surface after a wildfire, a kind of natural heat-treating?

Wow, what a great combo of colors, had no idea this material produced that range of colors.  I also like that healed black fracture which makes for a nice aesthetic.  This easily makes the top 10 list for me.

We found this vien about 2 1/2’ down, I don’t think it was hot enough as it was by the edge of the burn, but I guess it’s possible. The fire basically cleared the brush, either way there is more deeper down...
