Title: 'Clip' for ring too big
Post by: Greg Hiller on November 05, 2016, 07:31:51 AM
I just made a custom ring for a woman, and it turned out great.  Exactly the size she requested, and she's happy with it, but...it just fits over her swollen knuckles and then is loose and turns more than I think she would like.  She asked me if there is something she can 'put on' the ring to make it tighter once it's on her hand.  The only thing I could think of was a small piece of silicone tubing that I could split down the middle, but it seems like that might fall off easily.  The other option was maybe some yarn wrapped around the shank, but that would take some time to put on, and it would continue to fall off.

Any ideas?

Greg;

     I know they make commercial ring sizers just for that purpose. They clip into place. I am sure a google search and a little time will find them. Option b depends on how expensive a ring it is. With silver you can just make the ring adjustable instead of a solid shank and most people do not mind.  good luck,  Neal

give me a PM if you cannot find what you need and I will call a friend who has a jewelry store
