Not a particularly pleasant topic but people need to be aware of issues in the marketplace. There isn't a set forum for posts like this so this is my best guess. Note: Stay tuned for the ending, it's arguably the best part.
Enjoy!

It doesn't have to be on TV. eBay is full of it.http://www.ebay.com/itm/19g-Natural-Blue-Turquoise-Nugget-Rough-/151945085113?hash=item2360a200b9:g:ptQAAOSwDNdVxthq (http://www.ebay.com/itm/19g-Natural-Blue-Turquoise-Nugget-Rough-/151945085113?hash=item2360a200b9:g:ptQAAOSwDNdVxthq)

I love the sheer quantity of fonts used in one ad.
That's a red flag all by itself.

The name Chinese always rings my alarm bells. Dyed Howellite ? http://www.ebay.com/itm/341-OLD-STOCK-CHINESE-TURQUOISE-BEADS-57-GRAMS-24-BEADS-FROM-CLOSED-ROCK-SHOP-/201578716407?hash=item2eef071cf7:g:Nu4AAOSwd0BV15Ov
This seller has several parcels listed from a "closed rock shop"

It seems worse to me when it's on television since they are hitting many more people in one of these episodes. Also I think people nowadays are conditioned to a certain extent to not trust eBay auctions. There are so many of these auctions it appears eBay either can't or won't keep up with them. Plus if you are on television I'm guessing there are more rules and monitoring by the FCC.
