This came from the oynx mine by Crystal Nevada. It is mostly crystal calcite.
It is a small one at 2 3/4" but cute.
-
Hey that's a cool one Jhon. Can see the regular pattern of I guess it's crystsls?
-
I agree, just too cool.
-
Sweet one Jhon! Great patterns in it and a nice color shade to boot. A real winner.

That is a beautiful Sphere! Nice job

Thanks, but god ( or nature if you like) make the rock I just made it round and shiny
-
i would have thought because it looks brittle it would have fractured while you worked on it or at least chunks taken out of it. i guess i should not judge a stone by it's looks.. :toothy10:

The material is solid and holds together well. I have done several with the crystal calcite in it and Sandsave has done a couple that I sent him without any problems. Sometimes there are areas of porous that gives a little pitting.
-
Man that turned out nice! They do have a little pitting at times but look at the finished sphere. I've almost finished some of the red material we collected above the purple cow. It's really hard material and also pitted a bit.

Yum! Looks like rock candy! Beautiful sphere. :icon_sunny:
