One thing I like to do is experiment.  It's the only way to really expand what you are capable of doing. 

This was done with masking tape and a little battery powered Dremel using soft abrasive wheels.

I've done this "faceted" style before, but the idea on this one was to see if I could make the cross stand out with a black outline done with a sharpie.

Worked pretty well, but as has been suggested, I'm going to try it again in the future and use a thicker marker, and put a black outline on all the facets as well, to give it a stained glass effect.

Wow. Don't know how it looks in person, but the cross stands out nicely in the photo on my monitor. Prominent, but still maintaining a nice balance with the pattern in the field behind it. Kudos!
