20 inch saw, feed rate
« on: June 29, 2024, 10:16:55 AM »

Here is my rotisserie drive & step pulley .
20 inch blade,  belt slips a little the way i have it set.
Would i be better off using the larger pulley on the step for slower  feed than where i have it?

Typically I use 1 inch / 10 minutes for a lapidary blade (0.087"). That equates to 1/10" (0.010") every minute. Half that for a .150"+ blade. Depends on the blade thickness, the wider the "kerf", the slower you want to go. Called "feeds & speeds". The machinist's basic rule.
