Home made air dry clay? Yes please!
« on: December 09, 2019, 01:40:12 PM »

I have not been on in a very long time. But now that I live in town with good internet I hope to see you all more often. Oh and I'm experimenting with home made air dry clay. I'll be back to post results in the near future.

I live in the desert, so my experience with air dry clay isn't the greatest.  It tends to dry out to fast for me.
When I work with metal clay I have to always have water on hand with a paintbrush for application because the clay can dry super quick.

I do a lot of clay work: You can easily rehydrate a piece that is a bit dry by storing it in a water proof container with a bowl of water in it .A sponge in the bowl helps evaporation  keeping the clay just right.

Our home-made air dry clay is the stuff that builds up by the inches on shoes! Just scrape it off and take some home.
