Pt. Mugu coquina sphere
« on: July 08, 2019, 06:59:24 PM »

This material is sourced out of the nearby Pt. Mugu Navy base adjacent to Oxnard, CA.  It is a fossiliferous organic shale called a coquina. Apologies up front on the photos.

Very nice. Some of the oldest  stone beads ever made were of coquina in India.
