Mom's Christmas Gift
« on: December 09, 2014, 12:32:16 PM »

This is Part of my Mom's Christmas gift.
She bought me a magazine earlier this year and it had a project in it she wanted me to make for her - it was a glowing rosette medallion of glass based pearls and Swarovski crystals.  I kept running into one GIANT problem however.  The Swarovski Crystal Briolettes I needed for the project seemed hopelessly out of reach.  All I could find that matched what I needed were only available to buyers on "wholesale only" websites.  So I ended up doing something slightly different with the design to compensate for this problem.

I used Glass based pearls, Chinese faceted crystal, 24kt plated seed beads, faux opal, and silver lined rocaille beads along with Czech two hole beads and Czech Firepolished Glass.

I think she'll love it.

She's gonna be so happy!  The earrings turned out well; I wish the picture showed the dimension in the pendant better.  It's pretty cool, I'm thinking of trying to make something similar for my Mom as a brooch now.  You know, like sort of the same but different...

Yesterday is History, Tomorrow is a Mystery, Today is a Gift.... That's why it's called The Present.
