Interesting! The one in the middle and the one to the left are so directional that they have this fibrous look to them... did direction of grinding make any difference when cabbing (like with tiger eye or schistoise nephrites), or is this so well silicified that orientation doesn't really matter?

Direction did not seem to make any difference. Some of the pieces have patterns going in various directions. For example in these pieces.

Nice stuff and extremely varied.  The finished cabs had a striking similarity to ricolite (serpentine and talc banding), but I realize they have nothing to do with ricolite.

Some of it does look a lot like ricolite.
