Submitted this one yesterday to the FMG Competition for Seed beads.

Stabilized Chinese turquoise
Stablized kingman turquoise (The rectangle cabs used as inlay in the mask)
Azurite
Malachite
Faux opal
Lots of Japanese and Czech seed beads
Czech pressed glass
Silver plated charms
Gourd (Yes I carved it and inlaid it myself)
Dentalium shell
Dyed magnesite nuggets
Nickel silver wire

No, I don't Sketch them out.  I just grab stones and arrange them and I see the piece as I want it in my mind.  I have only sketched out a couple things in the past - metal clay pieces mostly where I would be using the resulting drawing for templates.

The Facebook page for this forum has a tutorial I posted several months ago showing how to do a peyote stitch bezel around a cabochon.  That is probably the best place to start.

It's not so much patience, as it is just ambition to get it done.  This piece had a good 72 hours into it.
