Too Much Jade Part 2
« on: October 12, 2014, 08:22:13 PM »

Picture 1
This is a three part jade with very schistose junk jade on the lower part, then a poor quality black band and on the top a solid silver and brown variegated jade.

Picture 2
Silver and green jade is very common here and some areas of this piece do not have the soft black inclusions.

Picture 3 The rock being stepped on is jade as is the green-grey rock in front of the foot. The green-grey jade is better quality in that the schistocity is not as severe as the other piece.

Picture 4 This is the piece I am tipping up in the picture from the previous post. This is blocky non-schistose jade.

Those darn falling leaves sure can make things difficult can't they; I guess with all the flash floods they get washed away but here they blanket everything and make the picking difficult till the spring floods wash them away.

I am so jealous but I think I have an idea for using the low grade jade with the white rind. Actually any jade would work and as soon as I get one finished I will share. My brain just keeps workin workin workin just like your eyes keep workin workin workin. It is amazing what your eyes can learn to see and block out junk Mine work sometimes and other times I should have stayed home.
