Help finding burgandy color material
« on: October 01, 2017, 07:47:07 AM »

Hi All

I am looking for some burgandy color material to buy or trade for. It is for a Christmas present. I will buy or trade some Nethers farm flint from Flint Ridge Ohio.

Pics below are example

How much do you need?  I have a few slabs that might work for you if you don't need a lot.

Hi

Well a 2" x 3" slab would be a starting point depending on what you have. I could go smaller if it is what I am looking for. In the end I am trying to come up with a cab that is at least a 22 x 30 that is the most insane burgandy ever.
Or close to it   :Bash:

I may be able to help you out.  I have a slab of Imperial Jasper that might fit the bill.  It's not dark burgundy, more maroon, but it might work for you.  The color's pretty even and it should easily yield a cab that size.  I had some darker Mookaite that might work but I'll have do dig to see what sizes are available.

No worries.  Just PM me your snail mail.  I'll send the slab and if you think it's usable send me what you think is a nice piece of flint.  I've never cut that material and would like to try some.

Here's a quick slightly out of focus image.  The slab measures about 6.5 x 1.5 inches at widest points.  If you think it'll work for your project I'll send it as a gift.  If you want to send a slab in return that would be nice but not necessary.

Maury Mountain Agate may be a good choice and I suspect Ebay has some listings.
