I found the photo of the plastic gizmo.
The piece is made from a 1/2" round disk, a 2" round disk and a piece of 1/8" rod. After I cement them together I heat the rod near the top disk and bend it do that the top is at about a 45 degree angle so the cab will be facing the camera. I cut a 1/2" cross in the photo gradient and poke the gizmo up through it. I put a piece of Scotch tape on the small disk to hold the cab. When I'm taking the photo I hold the camera at about 10" away from the cab and let the camera do the focusing, time and aperture setting automatically. I shoot with the maximum resolution on the camera and crop the photo with Windows Live Photo Gallery to bring the cab image up closer. This way I dint need a macro lens to get real close up photos. I use a canon Rebel XT camera. I have a few photo gradients on my computer that I print out but mostly I use the one shown because I like the background image and colors.
It only takes a few seconds to turn on the lights, place the cab on the fixture and shoot the shot.
