New drop saw blade
« on: October 18, 2017, 08:20:37 AM »

Hi All

I know blades are very much talked about because I have read most of it. I just dont remember :Bash: I am looking for a good replacement blade for my lortone 14 inch drop saw.

For the first time in months I fired it up. It is bent and missing bite in a few areas causing it to cut slow and bounce. I do not have my speed control built yet so I need a blade that is on the thick side.

Ideas please.  I am going to be cutting a lot of flint from Nethers farm.

Bless
Shawn

We have an MK 303 on ours.  It's been on the drop saw now for probably 3 years or so.  Vince is the slab man, and he really likes it.   :icon_sunny:

I will second the MK 303. I have one on mine and it is a terrific blade.

I use the Covington Gold series, and they last forever on a drop saw. Good price too. Rumor has it Covington is having their blades made by MK now.

you could always call and ask... But I like their blades for tougher rocks like jasper, agates, etc. (except jade).
