It was not jade. surprise
« on: April 18, 2017, 06:56:06 AM »

Well, I took my rock trip and did buy some great jasper. But the California Jade was a bust. It was sure black but not of what I consider good lapidary material. It was worth the time for a great time traveling through Oregon in the back country.  The quest goes on for beautiful black rock....  neal

The real good black rock that i used was black jade.  But the price has gone way up for the best grades.  The material that I used was Wyoming black jade from around muddy gap.  I hear there are some people starting to work the old claims.
