druzy cloud with pearl raindrops
« on: May 25, 2021, 02:49:02 PM »

Made this little piece for my sister. I had made this design years ago in elephant ivory I carved myself into clouds but with the present laws and feelings about ivory I opted for white druzy which actually works very well for the design. Freshwater pearls for the raindrops. Making the odd shaped back and bezel are tough but I am fairly practiced at it.

Never posted photos here before, why does my photo come out all distorted and so large? I also can't seem to see photo in "preview". If I click on the photo in the post it gets back to proper shape but is way too large. Thanks for any help.

It's odd I have seen the problems plenty of times before, not sure if it is a system issue like apple vs pc or the program used.  I have always had no issue just saving and reposting the pics and they are fixed.  In your case I also reduced the image to 200 dpi and 800 pixel wide edge to lower posted size to 161k vs 919k.  Beautiful piece by the way!

Irock, thank you so very much for fixing it!! I am much better at lapidary and metalsmithing than computers! I have no idea of how to change sizes of my photos. I am using an Apple computer and I don't have this problem on a couple other forums I frequent (not lapidary or jewelry oriented). Thank both of you for the compliments! I just finished a drusy bat for my other sister, MUCH harder to set than the clouds, will try to photo and post it soon.
