never tried it but if you're going to do that much work, why not diamond?

It works with diamond, so no reason it shouldn't work with SIC. Just won't last very long like diamond.

BTW, can you get a copy of the Feb '99 issue of Lapidary Digest?
I've been searching for that "lost" Part 2, of the Mystery of Polishing...
and found this a reference to John Sinkankas (on pg 51) also wrote on the chemical polishing theory.

Steve never did a part 2.  It would have been on their website (the Attaways) and it's not.  I looked high and low for that years ago until I realized that if it wasn't on their website, he never did it.  I may have even seen a reply to a question about that on a faceting forum years ago.  So the article you are looking for is by Sinkankas?  That helps to know what I'm looking for.   :glasses9:
