Unknown Pet Wood
« on: March 02, 2019, 04:22:24 PM »

This rock came to me in a bucket of random rocks.  It was one of those buckets that someone gives you with the disclaimer "Hey, you like rocks don't you?".  Most of the time it is a bucket full of leaverite, but occasionally there is a hidden gem.  This is one of those.  It seems like I recognize this material for some reason but can't put my finger on it.  Its obviously a pet wood, but I'm sure there is a more specific identity to this one.  Any help?

The slab is still wet with oil from the saw in this picture.

I was pulling out some Palm Fiber for my sister to cut (she volunteered me to cut of course) when I pulled this out of the drawer, looks like the same material, very opalized

Certainly looks like the same material.  Mine is very opalized also.
