Here's a change...
You don't need Photobucket to post pictures here.
We have plenty of storage space for images.
So please, feel free to upload photos to the forum in your postings.
Simply use the link at the bottom of your posting you are creating where it says "Attachments and other options."  Uploading is easy using the interface.  Enjoy!

Amanda I tried to post pics using the attachment button but it would not allow me to post them as they needed resizing . Is there any hints to resizing pics or an auto resizing function that can be added to the site?
I did get pics to post from Photobucket to post that I resized from there.
Any help would be appreciated .

i use image resizer (still on Xp by choice)
Other ways is to use paint.net or other photo programs.

Email one to yourself i think works also.

Photos need to be 800x600 max for the forums.
Most people resize them before photobucket also.

I'm on Windows 8.1.  Any photos stored in your photos folder you can click on, highlight, go up and click on edit and you can resize them.

I just tried uploading a photo for my avatar, and it doesn't seem to have gone through.  Are newbies not allowed to post avatar photos, or did I do something wrong?  I used the change profile link, chose a picture, hit the "change profile" button, but no go.  It didn't even save my birthday date.

Check the size of the picture you are trying to upload.  If it's to big that has been known to cause problems.

Thanks - I just tried one that's 140 x 140 pixels and 7.5K in size.   I choose "upload picture" and then "save profile changes" and nothing shows up.  No errors, either, just no picture.  If 140 x 140 is too large and can't be automagically resized, what is the suggested size for an avatar pic?

Just tried resizing to 75 x 75 pixels - I get a message saying my profile has been successfully updated, but as far as I can tell, nothing is happening.  I did manage to update my gender and location, but no profile pic.

Give it a few moments.  First time I uploaded my avatar it took a couple hours for it to appear.  Don't have a clue why it's like that either.   :dontknow:

Hrm.
Let me do some poking around to see what's going on.  If I cannot figure it out I'll give Randy a poke.

I just tried uploading an innocent photo of a bowl of tomatillos as your avatar.  Going to give it a few minutes and see if it sticks.  If not, I'm going to have to dig a heck of a lot deeper.

Try uploading as a .Jpeg file instead of a .png file and see if that makes a difference.
I'm trying to troubleshoot where the problem is.  It's showing in the forum that you uploaded an avatar and that I did as well, but they aren't coming up.  It's weird.
