Indian Paint
« on: August 31, 2019, 08:01:17 PM »

Found this material in a rock shop.  Didn’t really know what is was and neither did the person who sold it to us.  Surprised when we found out what it was.  Sphere is 3.4 inches.

I gotta agree with Stonemon.  That is probably the coolest sphere I think I've ever seen!

If you could find one for sale you are looking at $1,000.00 or more.

Holy Cow!!  I've seen so much of that stuff cut into slabs and cabs (and always liked it) but this is over the top!  That material is made for spheres!  One of my all time favorites.

Holy cow!  I have some of the material but have never seen a piece big enough for a sphere.  That is one of my favorites so far!!!!   Great job!

The last 3 spheres you have posted have blown me away.  This last one is in a class all its own.  I didn't know Indian Paint could look as such, it takes a sphere to bring that out and yours is beyond compare.  Thanks for showing us what perfection looks like.

The 4th one that blew me away was the Hermophyton (cycad like plant) I think Jay posted some time back.  Amazing!

Excellent material for a sphere, love the matte finish. You can enjoy the color without running into reflection.

Gorgeous! Most beautiful Indian Paint I've seen. Matte finish is looking like rich velvet. How do you get a matte finish, just stop short of final polish?
