Nice cab. Sometimes a low dome or flat face looks better on jaspers. Tends to show more of the pattern.

A small piece of rough was mostly plain reddish-brown, with just a hint of its signature pattern on one end. I cut a thin slab off of this end, and made this cab. Low dome, and beautiful polish.

Found a small slab of this material in a pile bought at an auction. Classic brown and bluish veil-like patterns certainly look like Biggs or similar materials, but then again this had lots of soft, porous areas. It felt like a rhyolite of some kind while working on it.

I sometimes cut free forms or cabs on material I find  myself to see If its worth carving. This one is directly on the peel fault on my property. Quite a bit of epidote in the mix. 6.5 to 7 mohs. Looks awesome in sunlight but looses its colour indoors.

Yes by a country mile. Nobody cares about forums anymore just a few of us that linger here. I think both of our entries should be put up.

Thanks Steve. Finished the Rhodonite spiral. I think it suits the stone.
