Cutting fun.
« on: July 08, 2019, 07:20:40 PM »

Went looking for a couple rocks, which necessitated auditing the entire rock storage pile. Then went to cut three rocks, which resulted in an unexpected saw cleaning day (I am proud that I can wrangle my 14 in drop saw in and out of its tray by myself!) and then learned all about how hard it is to polish a wide flat rock on a narrow round wheel (hint: was less than completely scratchless, kept hitting the edges of the wheels) but in the end, had a good day yesterday.

That looks like you had a day full of fun.   Beautiful results as well.  Is the first photo a blue lace agate from Malawi?

My daughter's friends go hog wild over that material.

It's all local eastern Oregon stuff! Just what was lying around in the hills.
