Bull Wheel
« on: April 15, 2017, 11:29:02 AM »

I'm looking into purchasing a bull wheel to sand and polish cut specimens, seems like it would be a great piece of equipment to get the job done quickly and efficiently. I've read some people use a flat lap before sanding on the bull wheel and others say you don't need to. Wondering if anyone in this group owns a bull wheel and can share their experience with this piece of equipment. Thanks in advance!

A friend has a 12" bull
Wheel that he uses for dry sanding. Mostly geodes, thundereggs.
It works great, if I had been a little earlier to an estate sale it would be in my shop!

I do a lot of my work dry sanding on 8" expando machine but that doesn't preclude me from dreaming of having a 12" wheel.

a buddy polishes specimens for a living and he does not use a flat lap but he is very good at getting flat cuts with his slab saws.
