Question about turquoise webbing
« on: May 21, 2020, 11:33:03 AM »

I’m so confused about turquoise webbing and high grade turquoise. I’ve seen people posting pictures of cabs with absolute black intense webbing from Kingman, and Ithaca Peak. I thought most Kingman was brownish matrix and also that Ithaca Peak was metal inclusion like iron pyrite, not pure black. Even though they claim this is “high grade, AAA, untreated turquoise,” are they actually treating the matrix to make it darker? I have some untreated Kingman and there is one area that  is black but it’s almost like a thick line, as opposed to webbing ( haven’t tried cabbing that piece so can’t say for sure until I slice it, but I think the webbing inside will be mostly brownish.)
