Need help in restoring a saw
« on: June 09, 2018, 10:23:52 AM »

My brother called the other day and told me he was at a seminar back East and outside the room was a saw that he found out the lapidary department was discarding.  Since it was 20" he decided to safe it from the going to the dumpster.  He has no idea what the brand is or if parts are available.

The saw is 20", the housing is heavy Fiberglass, the legs look like aluminum and fit is to receptacle slots in the bottom of the saw. The top viewing window is obviously broken.  It sounded like a similar setup to the Highland Park in the way the drive feed and side setup for belts works but my brother made it sound like one of the side arms had a gear rather than a pulley but I might have mis-understood him.  I am including 5 pics he sent from his phone.

Any info would help greatly.

Searching online it looks like a hillquist personally

That must be why he said it had some sort of gear on it that I couldn't see.
