Rim Jasper Pendant
« on: November 06, 2014, 08:03:17 PM »

This is the most unusual rim jasper I have ever cut.  I've never seen light blue before on the rim jasper
63 mm long, 2.5 mm hole

That's a great looking pendant/bead Frank, the colours are nice and pleasant to look at and the gradiation in colours on the front really stand out although I really like the back too; it could be worn either way in my mind

This stone was two years in the cutting. The light blue - white is opal while the rest is agate and the opal did not want to polish. i redid the stone 4 times and finally got it with a 1200 grit flat pad to do the prepolish followed by 3,000, 8000, 14000 and 50,000. I am in no rush to look for similar rough.

I can see why you have a long face since you had to do this thing four times. "long face in the bead lol" I am surprised no one else has noticed it but there is a perfect long face on there.

Very beautiful and I would say well worth the effort since it was not my effort. Your work is always spot on.

I saw that face staring back laughing at me when I cut it. The long face is appropriate as it finally lost and I won.

I thought it was in the Halloween theme and you missed it because of all the extra work; but now I see the face is actually wracked with the agony of defeat
