« on: January 25, 2017, 12:11:44 PM »

I have several friends that knapp material and are very good at what they do..........I even have some of James Bowden's material in my collection.....(Professional knapper)...
Here are a few of James pieces, that I own now (3) One was made for me,from some Ohio Flint Ridge I sent him(#3)...The others,in the frame, were made by friends of mine.....I have another friend, doing some knapping for my collection too, can't wait to see his work....
I will be teaching myself how to knapp this coming summer too...

Cool pieces.  I especially like the first one.  It looks like the Eiffel Tower to me.

Very nice! Gorgeous fine work. Love the first one, a very unique way to capture the inclusions.

Hi there

Looks like some of the material that I have from there that I put up for trade.

http://lapidaryforum.net/group/index.php?topic=3743.0

I still have about 60 lbs of rough to cut. I should have another 100 - 150 lbs of rough before winter hits. In my eyes this some killer stuff. If I make the effort I can get more if it has value. I know it does but does it pay for me to get it.

If you are willing to send me a slab I will trade so we can compaire materials.

Bless

I am curious if you think baskenite can be cabbed since it is a form of jasper. Here is an example of the slab.

And some cabs made from the material.
