Nice job. I'm curious how you polished the inner part where the curves meet.

Hi, thanks. I use micromotor and polishing pads (photo below) with diamond paste (up to 50,000 grit)

Excellent symmetry!  Do you have a particular purpose/project in mind for these?

Hi guys, thank you. No I don't have a project with it. I think, it could be used to make a jewelry set. One heart for a ring, two for earrings and one for a pendant. Very simple jewelry set.

Very pretty. I'm curious if you carved the shape of the curved part with burs or some other way? I am having some difficulty with hearts getting the exact curve you have there without spending a ridiculuos amount of time with small carving burs. Though I tend to stick to mostly materials that I want to be assymetric anyway qhen I make hearts, I have some blue lace agate right now that I want to be symmetrical hearts and am finding it a time-consuming, uphill battle. Did you use small burrs or can you offer any shortcuts?

Hi ileney,

To cut exact shape you could print out the heart and then glue it to the supposed back side of the stone. So first you make exact shape.

Afterwards you cut it with a bur and make a round surface with sand paper or sand paper bur. Afterwards you do the polishing.

A picture costs 1,000 words. See below.

Thanks for this. I would not have thought to use that type of stone bur. I like your results, so I think I will see if I can find one online and give it a try! Do you happen to know who manufactured that stone bur?

Alex,

Beautiful work!

I hope you are wearing a good respirator, have good air flow to protect yourself from the rock dust.  Or are you working them wet. Still need the respirator though.

Thank you, Jerry, I always try to do my best.
Yes, I use respirator. Very dusty jobs I try to do outside.
