Not sure what everyone uses, but found a 25 drawer map / blueprint cabinet over the weekend.  This is awesome for jewelry / cab storage.

We have one, but fewer drawers.  We use it to store our slabs we'll never cut because they're too pretty and other higher-end rough.  They are handy and now that I've seen your use, I'll have to keep my eye out for another!

I found myself putting my top shelf slabs in it as well.  I picked up some fleece from joanne's fabric as a door buster and it cost me $25 to spray glue and line the drawers.  Seemed a must for cabs and finished work.

If we ever acquire another one, I think I'd get that stuff they use to line silverware boxes to prevent tarnish.  It would be great to have a place to store my metal as well as jewelry.

I worked 25 years for a Major Car manufacturer's Design office.  Since we used to do everything by hand with blueprints and sketches and we had tons of these flat file drawers.  One day the color and materials girl who was responsible for the new car colors decided she wanted a bunch of them for her new area but they were the "wrong color white" for her area.  Now we had a massive paint booth for spraying the car designs but instead of repainting them they took a fork lift and started dumping them in the 40 yard haul off dumpster.  I backed up my truck and told them start dumping them here and got 8 or 9 of them in several trips.   Ours were 4ft wide and 3ft deep with 5 drawers for Architectural "E" size sheets.  They are indeed awesome for keeping sorted slabs, mineral specimens, cabs, pretty much anything. They are built strong and will carry a ton of weight without drawers sagging etc..  Love em and agree if you ever see any grab them as you will love them.

Finally though the holiday commissions.

Did this knife on the last day of 2017, still have the metal polishing to do, but the USPS has lost a $700 Rio order as of right now. :eeek
