Back into the game
« on: September 07, 2015, 07:29:41 AM »

Holiday is over, so I'm slowly easing myself back into a sort of routine.

First up, something I collected in Austria and think might be marble.

The second is Labradorite, that was gifted to me in Austria after we narrowly missed actually meeting up. Never worked anything with clear base, so this is a completely new material to me.

Best regards, Kurt

Good to see you back at it. Vacation time really gets in the way of creating but as it motivates in ways we can only imagine it is crucial. I am weaning myself from my shop as my vacation approaches and at the same time looking forward to a fresh fall start in the shop.

I still think the carved Labradorite looks like a blue lobster tail!   :icon_sunny:  It's cool.

Really lovely shine in that labradorite! It's a nice organic shape too, very flowy.

Thank you for all the kind comments.  :occasion14:

I'm not too happy with the Labradorite yet. I see crooked lines and a few spots that I could not get rid of in the pictures. At hand it looks fine, .... but......

Up next, Calcite that I bought in Salzburg and want to carve in memory of the trip

And another Labradorite with a little darker base-colour. Seeing a bird in there.

:) :) :) I'm fine with Lobster-tail. :) :) :)
Had no plans for any resemblance to anything, came just into being that way by experimenting for angles to get colour and cutting out bad sections. :) :) :)
