Question? Vertical wood sculpture mahogany
« on: July 06, 2017, 01:20:05 PM »

What do you use to smooth hard to get areas without removing the carving already done on it? Also has anyone found something to seal dark wood without making it darker?

I have used CA glue (hot stuff) on knife scales to fill small pores or cracks

Great to know I use hot stuff on small things. Any ideas on this? I used Linseed oil on it and it darkened alot. So thought tongue oil and it worked better. Now just curious about sanding tips? Never worked with this hard wood.

No help.   Sandblasting? If it has any soft areas it would remove too much material.

Thanks, looks like I'll just have to go at it by hand with sandpaper since I don't own a sand blaster.
