Washington jade pendant
« on: September 04, 2017, 10:44:52 AM »

I haven't been cutting rocks much this summer due to our extreme drought.  I've been watering many hours every day of the summer.  And now things are very extreme and we are losing trees and shrubs.  Its nice to get back to the stones.

58 mm long, 4 mm hole

Yum!  That's extra-special.  Wish I had some of that material to play with, it's my favorite type of jade.

Looks like Jadeite...   Did you find this piece?   It is one of the best pieces of Washington Jade I have seen.

It is from a creek in Washington and does look like jadeite but I suspect it is a very nice grade of tremolite , mutton fat jade.

Agree with Michael, most unusual for a nephrite. Beautiful piece, love the variety of rocks you have in your neck of the woods.
