Title: Fixed a Guys Ring
Post by: MrsWTownsend on February 01, 2015, 03:54:05 PM
While at the MCC Flagg show, a guy (named Bob) came up to Haderly asking about getting a ring repaired.  Haderly said, "Well I don't do that sort of thing but she probably could" and pointed at me.

I have never actually done a ring repair but I figured, how hard could it be?  So Bob gave me a couple of tumbled rocks he and picked up from someone at the show and his ring, we exchanged numbers and off we went.

I didn't think about taking a before pic (sorry), but here is a pic of the ring in process, waiting for the epoxy to set

and finished- my good camera battery died so these are crappy cell phone pics

He said he got the ring at Rocky Point and though it was cheap, he had gotten many compliments on it and he really liked it.  I buffed out some pretty deep scratches as best I could, without eating away the meat of the silver on the side stones too.  I hope he likes it- I think it turned out pretty good.

and the extra rock
