Washington jade pendant
« on: July 16, 2017, 07:52:27 PM »

This is from a very nice cobble I found a few miles from my house. I cut it in a standard manner up to and including the 220 wet sand. As it was showing very bad undercutting I took it out to the dry sanding shed and polished it dry on diamond sanding wheels up to 8,000 grit. 16,000 grit dulled the superb polish so I went back and finished it on the 8,000 grit wheel dry. Losing some finish is common when going to the high  diamond grits when used dry.A hugely problematic stone finished in just a few minutes dry sanding. 70 mm long , 4 mm hole.

I really like this stone.
The white band running through it and the almost square darker green area in the bottom.
It looks like you managed to get it polished very nicely.
Well done.  :hello2:
