Bacon Opal
« on: October 16, 2018, 06:50:15 PM »

Our club president was informed that the bacon opal claim had expired and was going back up for auction/sale the 1st of October, I've been to the site before by never collected.
There was a vien exposed so we proceeded to pry some layers out.
The first pic is how thick the layers are, it's upside down the bacon opal is on the bottom of the photo.

Very soft material and looks like it might be on fire.

Interesting angelwing on top of that - it DOES look like flames.

Really interesting how that formed.  Really made a neat looking sphere.

That's different, like the flame look.

Cool textures, and that angelwing in the veins/vugs is a bonus.  I am impressed (but not surprised) you made this into the sphere. It would be fun to see the variety of materials that comes out of this location.  What range of pricing do you think this claim will go for...4, 5 or 6 figures?

I should have been more clear, when I spoke of pricing in 4-6 figures, I should have added that I was referring to the claim you mentioned where the bacon opal came from.
