Rules:
1) Cab must be made by you.
2) Cab must be made within the time period of this contest. NO pulling old cabs from your storage baskets!
3) As long as the basic shape is considered a cab it's golden. You can enter intarsias and carved top cabs such as cameos etc. Afterall this is the OUTRAGEOUS cab contest! We love freeform cabs! Pull out the stops y'all and give me the best you have!
4) One entry per person please!
5) Please show photos of your slabs and preforms if you can so we can see your thought process and how you did things.
6) No finished jewelry pieces. Just the cab(s).
7) Cab sets are OK. (think pendant and matching earrings.)

Here we go! A multi colored Nephi,Utah Palm. I'm sure some are getting tired of hearing/ seeing about Nephi Palm and Wood, sorry but I'm not. Here is my entry. Would you keep the rock in the first pic? You would be glad you did! I'm posting both sides of the preform and finished sides. Please vote for your favorite side :LOLOL:

Here are the slabs for the winner of the Outrageous Cab Contest April & May. The first one is fractured but there are some good cabs to be had on both sides. The second is solid. Please don't let me win my own slabs!!!!!!!

Got some great material then got lucky figuring out how to polish it. So here it is, my first entry into a cab contest mainly because I never take before pics until it is too late to be before cause then it is after. Or something like that.

I know how to polish it finally!
The Pyrite inclusions within this rock are killer once polished!
I didnt even know it was in it after grinding, shaping and polishing it with cerrum oxide, it only showed its beauty after hitting it with ZAM.

Phish, that material you found is really cool- it sort of reminds me of plasma agate... I wonder if there is such a thing as plasma jasper. You could have the first ever plasma jasper!!! Or is it soft like nephrite?

FINALLY!!!!! Almost late, but if you only knew how busy I had been! So, here they are, from Phish's auction so very long ago. Remember that sunset stone? Really interesting. When I started cutting it you could hardly see the sunset it was such a pale orange. I wasn't even absolutely sure at first which side of the stone it was on. Well!
So, the first shot is of the stone while Phisisgroovin still had it, I drew lines on it to show intended cuts. The next picture is of the three center stones, and remember to check out how much that sunset came out!!!
