Here is another way to use crystals  Measures 49 X 39 X 6 mm. with flat back. The edges around the drusy part are polished.

That's a wonderfully creative way to use good drusy rough.  All the carvings you've posted so far are top-rate IMO.  And with flat backs they're very useful in jewelry-making, as you've pointed out.  I recall hearing about problems with 3-D carvings some years back --they were lovely but without flat backs no one could figure out how to create jewelry to show them off.
